The students of medicine get to know typical illnesses of musicians in different modules of the model study course Medicine. The importance of music for the public health and development of individuals is discussed and reflected in special teaching formats such as "Fundamentals of Medical Thinking and Acting".

Musician's Medicine in the Human Medicine Model Course at the Charité
In an obligatory elective course in module 32, students in the Department of Audiology and Phoniatrics can get to know musician medical illnesses. The course is provided by Priv.-Doz. Dr. Caffier.
In the 3rd semester, the subject "Fundamentals of Medical Thinking and Acting" (GäDH) on the subject of music and medicine (summer term) and art and healing (winter term) is offered. In this interdisciplinary curriculum, students learn to understand particular aspects of health and healing and the role of the physician.
Furthermore, the Department of Audiology and Phoniatrics offers an obligatory elective course in module 23, which can be extended in the module 24 to practical aspects and can be continued as a doctoral theses.
